TEACHER BIO – Nancy Morgan

Nancy Morgan started teaching dance at the age of 14 when her tap teacher, Charles Griffiths, asked her to teach his adult class. This began a very long love for teaching dance.

In the early 1980s, Nancy trained at Les Ballets Jazz de Montréal and continued teaching for various dance studios throughout the city. In 1985, she auditioned for and was accepted into Canada’s National Tap Dance Company.

In the early 1980s, Nancy started dancing at Les Ballet Jazz du Montreal. She continued to teach for various dance studios throughout Montreal. In 1985, Nancy auditioned and was accepted in the Canada’s National Tap Dance Company.

Her passion for performance led her to co-found Tapotage, a tap performance company with her dance partner Benny Draier. Together they led 12 dancers performing across Quebec and Ontario, teaching and choreographing together for over a decade.

After marriage and family, Nancy brought her love of dance back into the community by opening The Workshop Dance Studio in Kemptville in March 2015 — named after her father’s love of woodworking. She is the owner, creative director, and lead instructor, currently teaching Tap, Line Dancing, and Community Classes.
